Community Arts Grants Information Session!

Monday March 29, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. join us in the Annex Conference Room, Mercado Verde Building, 7373 East Scottsdale Mall, Suite 18, Scottsdale, Arizona, to review the application and ask any questions you may have about the 2010-2011 Arts Grants process.

The Scottsdale Cultural Council's Community Arts Grants Program provides funding for Scottsdale-based arts and cultural organizations as well as to Valley arts organizations for projects that take place in the Scottsdale community to promote long-term growth in Scottsdale's arts community and to meet short-term funding needs.

There are two grant categories:  projects and general operating support.  General Operating Support grants are designed to support Scottsdale-based organizations whose missions are primarily the arts.   Grant requests should be at least $1,000 but not more than $20,000. 

Twelve copies of the 3 hole punched Grant applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010, to:

Official notification of grant awards will be mailed by July 2010.

 

Grant funds are to be expended for activities occurring between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011.  A final report must be submitted to the Scottsdale Cultural Council within 90 days of the project completion date or by September 30, 2011 whichever date is earlier.  The report must delineate expenditure of funds and describe the success and challenges of the project. 

 Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts or cultural organization;
  • Applicant must have its primary place of programs or business located within the boundaries of the City of Scottsdale, or projects proposed from organizations not based in Scottsdale must primarily serve Scottsdale residents;
  • Applicant/organization must have a three-year history of programming prior to the application deadline.

The Scottsdale Cultural Council, a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is contracted by the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, to administer certain City arts and cultural projects and to manage the City-owned Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Scottsdale Public Art Program. The programs of the Scottsdale Cultural Council are made possible, in part, by the support of members and donors and grants received from the Arizona Commission on the Arts through appropriations from the Arizona State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
